The threads used in thread lifting are of the same type used in surgery and consist of PDO (V-soft Lift, Dr Perfect V-lift). These types of threads break down in the body after 6-9 months, but before that they provide a stimulation in the skin that builds up new collagen. Some of the wires have cones or barbs that provide additional lift in areas where this is needed. The shelf life of the strands varies depending on the type: some last for 6-8 months while others last for 24 months.
The durability can vary individually depending on how the body deals with the breakdown of the different strands. Factors that influence this include age, lifestyle, and skin type. Smoking and excessive tanning can even shorten the shelf life of the strands. In the case of a lot of excess skin, surgery is recommended because the threads are not able to remove excess skin.
Swelling and bruising may occur after treatment. At the entrance hole for the wire, the skin contracts slightly and often a small pit appears there, which then slowly disappears. The time after a thread treatment is expected to be a period of 4-6 months before the final result is visible. It's not a “quick-fix” treatment. To reduce the risk of major side effects, we advise you to follow our advice.
Thread lift can be performed in several different areas:
A thread lifting treatment takes about 60 minutes. At a consultation, you have the opportunity to ask all the questions you are considering, and then our therapists can also decide if thread lifting is the right treatment for you.
